Robot Assisted Rehabilitation

Robot Assisted Activity Centre

The Swiss Rehabilitation Clinic integrates the latest therapeutic technologies and offers, by far, the largest range of computerized and robotic therapy devices in Switzerland. The use of these devices in close conjunction with conventional physical and occupational therapy offers more promising opportunities for gait and arm rehabilitation. Our specially trained therapists have many years of experience in clinical application. The services of the Robot Assisted Activity Centre include:

Erigo

The Erigo® is an innovative tilting table with an integrated leg drive. With its help, intensive exercise therapy and physiological loading of the lower extremities can be started at an early stage, together with the possibility of simultaneous erection of the patient.

The Erigo® is particularly useful in the early rehabilitation of heavy patients and for use with coma patients for the following objectives:

  • Vertical integration (erection of the body)
  • Activation of the vital functions (circulation and respiration)
  • Early, gear-specific experience

Lokomat

The recovery of ambulation and mobility is one of the central goals of neuro-rehabilitation. In addition to specific physiotherapy treatments, single robot-assisted therapy devices such as the Lokomat® are used in modern neuro-rehabilitation. When Lokomat® exercise therapy is automated, it offers an intensive training of the affected limb in terms of endurance, strength, and drive with the following training objectives:

  • Recovery of standing and walking ability
  • Spasticity
  • Promoting awareness of the lower extremity
  • Promoting confidence

Armeo

The Armeo® offers an intensive training of arm and hand function through active self-training. Task-oriented therapy exercises in a high number of repetitions can promote the recovery of motor skills. The device allows the patient to actively use and expand even minimal movement possibilities of the arm, allowing:

  • Recovery of arm/hand function
  • Promoting awareness of the upper extremity
